ABSTRACT
This work is concerned with the relationship of countries in the
international system. The study looks at the reasons - surrounding the
current call for the reformation of the world order; that has led us to
the realization of the inequality in the relationship One of the most
publicize issues of International politic in recent years

has been the claim of the poor nations inhabited by more than half of
the world's population, that they are not receiving an "equitable" share
of the world's wealth and power. This issue has come to be called the
"North - South relations". The work demonstrates that North - South
relations constitute the subject of

considerable dissensus among the community of policy - makers and the
academics. The work further looks at how Nigeria helps in the struggle
by the poor nations to see to the reformation of the international
system.

In essence, therefore, this work explores the issues involved in the
current proposals for a New International Economic Order - as challenges
to understanding, goodwill, cooperation, and reconstruction between the
more developed and the less developed nations arise. It provides an
up-to-date, comprehensive and critical analysis of the keenly debated
issues in the international economic relations between the two worlds.
